Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition Out Now

Devil May Cry the classic 2013 hack-n-shoot has been redeveloped for new generation consoles, but is it better than the original. We take a quick first impressions look at Ninja Theory's Definitive Edition to find out what's hot in hell.

Firing up this game, I could instantly see the visual improvements from the PS3 to PS4. Character skin tones appear life like with a touch of manga stylized design to the environment. Dante still looks bad *ss, although I do think Ninja Theory could have done something to tweak the stiff looking hairstyles.

If you can look beyond this small little gripe, what you will discover is one of the most enjoyable if not bloody hardest games currently on the PS4 and Xbox One.

DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition is not for the casual gamer or those quick to give up when the going gets tough. Ninja Theory have added a brand new set of difficult modes designed to have you pulling your hair out or screaming out of your apartment window at 3:00 O'clock in the morning! Seasoned DmC players however will relish challenges like Hardcore Mode and the latest Must Style Mode which only lets you damage enemies once Dante has gained the S-Rank combo. Combining these two modes together adds a new sadistic twist to the gameplay forcing you to experiment with other techniques to achieve victory.

One good thing to consider with this new difficulty mode is the ability to now execute longer chains of attack which can be quite rewarding when done right.
