Col Rodgers from Evolution Studios, speaks highly of Playstation 4
At this year’s E3, we were able to get our hands on DriveClub and we were invited by Sony to their cinematic launch of the racing game.
During the twenty five minute long demonstration, Evolution’s Studios Managing Director, Col Rodgers couldn't be more pleased with the PlayStation 4. He announced that because of the graphical capabilities of the PS4, they were ready to do things that was not achievable before.
“The issue is, none of this could have been done without the amazing graphics fidelity. The PlayStation 4 is actually the most powerful console from the graphics point of view that’s ever existed. And we are extremely happy to make use of that. A number of the items that you actually see within the DriveClub demo like the accurately simulated clouds, will appear randomly each time you play the racing game. Additionally, throughout the day, none of the lighting is soaked into the racing game at all, everything is live so if you wish to be in a specific geographical location at a precise time of day, it will seem exactly as it would being there,” he stated.
He also talked about how they had mapped the night stars properly in the sky and the way they're pushing for realism by not neglecting the tiniest of details.
“We've gone to such lengths, that we actually have the night stars properly mapped within the sky. Which means once you look out the window of your vehicle, you'll see your favorite constellations, if you have got one.
We really love cars. I have been driving for eighteen years and i have fifty four cars which has some pretty wonderful stuff . This is something that's common within the entire studio. For example, I went out to see Neon, the lead automobile creator. And he was staring at one of the cars, he had designed. I asked what’s happening. He said ‘ i'm just rejecting this car.’ When I asked him why, because it appeared perfect to me. He said that the incorrect size screw heads were integrate to the floor mats and that simply would not do.”
We should be expecting something truly spectacular from this game, if this is the amount of discipline that Evolution Studios have maintained throughout their creation method.
The developers additionally disclosed that all the racing tracks in the game are pretty much fiction, but they're all roads that exist within the universe and they have been tweaked. They have something known as DEM it is a program that induces the correct geometrix of the landscapes of a specific area that they have designed.
Stay tuned for more information, which has new details on clubs, cars, connection choices and a lot more in DriveClub.
