Queues Begin To Form Ahead Of PS4 Friday's UK Launch In Covent Garden
November 27, 2013 By Maya MayfieldThey say the early bird gets the worm, but how early is too early to begin queuing up for the PS4? Well according to these hardcore UK Playstation fans, two days early is a fair amount of time to begin waiting outside Sony's store in order to guarantee a chance of getting the Playstation 4 launching this November 29th.
UK PS4 launch day Pre-Orders had sold out in August, and those who can beat the midnight rush like these eager gamers will be sold the console on a first come first served basis from midnight. These special consoles are also said to be the last available units before Christmas without a pre-order.
Sony is expecting a huge turn out this friday, with special guest performer Tinie Tempah set to be headlining the show.
Fergal Gara, Sony's UK and Ireland managing director said, "We really wanted to give those who missed the Pre-Order an opportunity to get their hands on a launch day console and this is the best way for them to get some of the last few remaining PS4 consoles available from day one. We are very excited on the run-up to our UK launch and would like to thank the fans for all their support by giving letting them take home a PS4 at the earliest chance."
The new console will be available in the UK this friday 29 November, retailed at £349 pounds with over 400 stores hosting special midnight release events starting from November 28th.
