Markus 'Notch' Persson is a famous and very respected indie developer of the worldwide hit game Minecraft. In recent news first covered by mobile.net Mr Notch a fan of Sony's PS4 had been tweeting about his experience with the next-gen system on twitter, when none other than Adam Boyes Sony's VP of Publisher Relations got in contact offering Marcus a selection of free games.
To everyone's surprise, Markus 'Notch' Persson actually turned down the offer, choosing to buy the games himself individually in support of the developers who have spent years making them.

Read the full conversation from twitter below.

“I have a fun project, a Playstation 4 is waiting for me, it’s Formal Friday at Mojang, and it’s our glöggpremiär. It is going to be the best day ever” Wrote Markus on the social media website.

Adam Boyes cut in with: “send me a list of games you want and I will see what I can do!”

Markus replied saying, “I want to buy it myself legitimately! Games are too personal for me, I want to feel like “it’ is mine”. :D But omg <3.″

In a world where the rich continue to get richer as the saying usually goes, or the wealthy never need to buy anything because everything is giving to them for free, it is nice to come across stories like this. Markus Notch Persson is a very successful developer in his own right, and his response to Adam is a great example for others in similar positions, especially when money is no longer an option.

I think we can all take inspiration from this story especially when it comes to supporting projects made by indie developers like Markus Notch Persson, so the gaming industry continues to thrive and be as successful not just for the big studios, but for everyone.
