President Shuhei Yoshida of SCE Worldwide has surprised us today with this very special limited edition PlayStation 4 in celebration of PlayStations 20th Anniversary. Today marks an incredible moment in history for all PlayStation fans since the first PlayStation launched back in Japan on December 3rd, 1994.

Its really been an epic journey following the evolution of PlayStation grow from strength to strength. This landmark day is truly one for the history books when you consider just how much games have improved since then.

Even back in 1994 the gaming industry was fiercely competitive with most companies having already established a strong share of the market. Despite this seemingly impossible challenge, Sony a company more known for making great electrical and audio products took a gamble, thanks to the unwavering determination of The God Father and Founder of PlayStation Mr Ken Kutaragi.

Putting his zeal and passion for game development into the original PlayStation 1. Mr Kutaragi was able to create a console that encapsulated a sense of new beginnings, explorations, adventure and discovery. Like Buzz Lightings famous quote, "To infinity and beyond."

Since then Sony PlayStation has inspired a generation of developers and indie studios to create classic games like Rage Racer, PaRappa the Rapper, Metal Gear Solid, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal 2, Castelvania: Symphony of the Night, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Tekken, Street Fighter, God Of War, Uncharted, The Last Of Us, Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, Call Of Duty, Gran Turismo, Battlefield and much more.

Even today there's a new generation of developers who unlike before are now able to get their labour of love on the same selling platform as major developers thanks to PlayStations network and support for indies. Its this very reason we have always been strong advocates of Sony's PlayStation brand and excited to celebrate this 20 year Anniversary with you all.
