When Turtle Rock Studios announced Evolve last year via Gameinformer we were very excited about the idea. The read up and video gameplay looked promising as we were introduced to the first of what we believed would be many hunters and monsters battling for dominance on a 4v1 predator style map.

Since its launch Evolve has been slowly gaining supporters but not enough to avoid backlash from gamers who feel the titles limited amount of content is worth the money. The game costs $59.99 on 2K's official website which in todays market is considered a standard retail recommended price for a quality Triple AAA game. Unfortunately what you get is a title that feels somewhat incomplete after the first week or two of playing.

Don't get me wrong, Evolve is a good game. The idea is cutting edge with the hallmarks of what should potentially be a title you and your buddies could play for months on end. The problem is that after you spend $59.99 on a game, you should at least expect is enough maps, hunters, monsters and weapons to keep you busy for at least a few months right?

Well if you want extra hunters and monsters, 2K/TurtlerRock are asking for an additional  $7.50 per hunter and $15 per monster .  . . Ouch!

This my friends just won't do. It's insane to expect gamers to spend that kind of money on extra content after shelling out full retail price on the game. I understand how incredibly difficult and time consuming it must be for developers to design these games but for a title with limited content to begin with its hard to imagine paying more money for what should already be included right out the box. I don't know how TurtleRock/2K expect to grow fans at this rate but if they want a bigger slice of that multiplayer COD and Battlefield audience they are going to have to provide a lot more maps, hunters, monsters, modes and all at an affordable rate most gamers can reasonably afford.
