Racism is not often a subject that is rarely explored in video games but it is very much a part of modern society. Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry did touch on the subject slightly with Adewale's mission to free those trapped in slavery but apart from that there is very little else on the subject.

Racial discrimination comes in all forms and shapes from judging those who don't look like us, talk like us or come from our part of the world. Those who racially discriminate are narrow minded, they fail to see the beauty in diversity and thus miss out on so much of what our world has to offer. This is why I was delighted that CD Projekt Red is in fact embracing the subject of racial discrimination from todays official gameplay trailer.

One particular scene in todays trailer we see a man telling his friend, "See her ears, she elf," while the  Witcher keeps a keen eye on the confrontation in the background. We are yet to see what the end result will be from this sensitive content but at least it is being presented. Video games though fun can be a powerful tool of influence and from what we already know about the Witcher, you will be able to decide his actions from a list of multiple choices that appear on the screen during gameplay thus shaping him into the type of character you hope reflects who you truly are inside.

What do you think of todays latest trailer and the topic of racism in todays official gameplay video? Leave your thoughts and comments below.
