A lot of people are unaware that the PS4 actually has voice commands, as we discovered from various social forums and websites. So we wanted to not only share this information with the Playstation community, but to also show you how PS4 voice commands work. There are two different ways to activate voice commands on Playstation 4, first method is by speaking directly to the Playstation Camera or by the mono headset included with every PS4 console.

Your-Guide-To-How-PS4-Voice-Commands-WorkWhen you first turn on your PS4, if you are sharing the console with others, you can  switch users by saying the word, "Log in," saying "Home screen" will take you back to the main menu.

If you say the word, "PlayStation" this will activate a menu of several voice control options. From this menu screen you can then say the name of what game you would like to play, for example, "Knack" or "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag." Once the title appears just say the word "Start" and the game will start to load.

During gameplay you can command the console take a screenshot of a particular image that catches your interest by saying, "Take screenshot." You can then share these images with your friends via the share button on the DualShock 4 controller. When you have finished playing a game you can say the word, "Power" this will log you out and switch off the Playstation 4.

It is worth noting that the Playstation 4 voice command may not function very well if you are in an area with a lot of background noise, and if you don't give the Playstation 4 a command within ten seconds the voice recognition option will become inactive.

Take a look at the video demonstration below of how the PS4 voice command works. Voice command supports, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and German.  Sony has informed us that more languages will be added in future through software system updates.
