NBA 2K14 MyCAREER Mode Puts 'YOU' in the Game

Senior Community Manager Ronnie Singh from 2K Games has just revealed how 2K went about creating a brand new experience for gamers both old and new to the NBA2K series.
MyCAREER is one of NBA2K14's most played modes, and the 2k team wanted to expand on this beyond just playing court side games on the next-generation system. What they came up with is an exciting new cinematic experience, filled with enough storyline narratives to rival Hollywood's blockbusters.

MyCAREER boasts over 300 pages of script on the Playstation 4, and it was designed to take you on an emotional journey never before experienced on any basket ball game. Ronnie said the teams goal was to place "YOU" in the game. You will not only have to make decisions while competing on court, as the game goes beyond court-side immersing you in a journey on the next-generation console.

One example Ronnie gave was early into MyCAREER mode, you will have to make a choice to celebrate with your team mates, even though you hardly get much time on the court as a rookie. You will be faced with the decision to either remain sitting down, or celebrate with your team when a time out is called. What ever choice you make will ultimate affect the overall outcome of your career, as you are viewed by your fellow team mates and the fans around you.

There are many more deep decisions like these to make in MyCAREER, and each choice and action opens up hours of new  hidden content both on and off the Basketball court. Every choice you make, down to how you choose to answer a question politely or in arrogance, will determine the way the fans react towards you, what sort of endorsements you get. Even choosing what endorsements to sign with will have an affect on your overall CAREER.

Team 2k have really put in a lot of thought in MyCAREER mode, as Ronnie goes on to further explain that your choices will even affect your potential trades, relationships with team mates, loyalty with local and national fans, team chemistry, GM relationship, and even social media feeds.

We think these new features and decisions in  MyCAREER mode is really exciting stuff, as it brings a whole new dynamic to the basketball genre, making it more personal to gamers.
