Sony tested PS4 controller that could detect sweat

Sony Tested Biometric Sensors on DualShock 4

Mark Cerny the lead Lead system architect  revealed that Sony tested a DualShock 4 controller that could measure a player's  skin response.

"We had a long research project  looking at  a lot of ideas." Said Cerny "Would it help to measure a persons skin response?  We tried numerous things and we asked the gaming teams what advantage this could have, if the Dualshock 4 controller was able to measure this."

Mark Cerny's revelation confirms previous reports that Sony was testing biometric sensors for the DualShock 4.

A stress sensor is not in  final DualShock 4 design, although the pad does include a touchpad and various updates from the  DualShock 3. Mark Cerny said that he and his team, wanted to design a controller that was focused towards first-person shooters.

"We have heard through-out the years that our controllers have not been ideal for first-person shooters, so we wanted to make  something much better for the shooting genre. We tested the triggers throw, the position, and the amount of pressure it takes. We examined the joysticks, the dead spot, and the convexity and concavity. The final result is a new controller that feels very natural." Said Cerny

Let us know you thoughts on the previous Dualshock 4, sony was working on. Would you have preferred a controller that could measure you stress levels while you play battle field 4?
