Sony's 3 Upcoming PS4 Games Set For Launch Date

The Games Launching With The Playstation 4

18th July 2013

The Games set to launch alongside the PS4 this holiday season is a showcase of multiple-genres. Though the titles, aren't original in concept. They are designed to show the awesome power of Sony's next-gen console.

1) Knack

Coming from Sony's Japan Studio, the launch title release is  Knack, an all action packed game, focused on a shape-shifting creature, with the power to absorb various energies. One of Knacks ability is to change sizes as you manoeuvre through the game at a press of button.  Mark Cerny Sony's Chief Architect lead designer of the game had this to say.

"Knack is idea we have had for a very long time. The PS4 gives us the opportunity to do some amazing things. Knack is made up of small different parts, and its nice to show what the Playstation 4 can do in terms of effect creations."

With lines up like Infamous: Second Son and KillZone, gearing towards a more mature audience. Its nice to demo a game like Knack. The DualShock 4 Controller face buttons and the Joystick is really all you will need to play Knack, so even your Grandma can join you for a game. Though Knack is easy to play, it won't be a game you will complete over night. You will be punching, and slamming your way through the levels with various weaponries, like throwing cars and trucks at the enemies. Or making yourself shrink, so you can get through unnoticed.

2) DriveClub

Another title we are expecting on Launch date is Evolution Studios Driveclub. The racing game is focused heavily on social interactions. In DriveClub you will have the opportunity to jump straight into races around the world, or accept challenges from other people online as you burn rubber. Evolution Studios has been working extremely hard on this title paying close attention to the smallest details.

DriveClub will feature a real world weather system, depending on what part of the world you wish to explore. You are guaranteed to not see the same conditions twice. (Unless you are some where sunny 95% of the time.)
Evolution Studios have used real cars, and real locations according to design director Paul Rustchynsky.

Rustchynsky is confident gamers buying the PS4 will be getting DriveClub much sooner than later, because of its social sharing features, and online challenges.

3) KillZone: Shadow Fall

People buying the Playstation 4 will also want to play something they are familiar with.  Guerrilla Games is hoping KillZone: Shadow Fall will be that game. Herman Hulst Managing director of Guerrilla Games said they always wanted to produce a launch title game. They had been working very closely with Sony during the PS4's design and were able to get a first hand look and feel of the consoles capabilities. Hulst also said they helped by giving input and feedback in the design of the controller.

KillZone: Shadow Fall is an Open world environment, and players will have the freedom to explore as they please. From the Demo we saw. The graphics looks amazing, with intuitive AI that can react like realistically under attack.

Hulst also said that in Shadow Fall, there is a constant struggle to protect your home world. The look and feel of the Utopia style world you live in the game had to be appealing in enough to inspire players to want to preserve it from enemy destruction.
Using the voice and visual talents of British Actor David Harewood known for his critically acclaimed role as CIA boss in the Homeland Series, and Actress Jamie Gray Hyder from True Blood.
KillZone is set to be a cinematic, visually stunning action packed master piece.

Sony's first launch of PS4 games are not trying to be innovative in terms of new gameplay. What they are doing is showcasing some of the most gorgeous graphics, ever seen on your 30-40-50-60, dare we say even 70 inch HD televisions screens.

Let us know what you think of these launch titles? Are you as excited as we are about it? Sound off below.
