Patience is a Virtue
Mar 28th, 2015 By Dean HowardDoes Bloodborne make your blood boil? Do you feel like screaming at your screen, punching the air and throwing your controller across the room? Well rage no more friends because our quick helpful tips for beginners will get you up and fighting like the baddest hunter in Yharnam.
This weeks big release is the highly anticipated PS4 exclusive Bloodborne FromSoftware.
One thing you will quickly learn playing Bloodborne is that you're going to die . . . a lot! At least in the beginning when you start and have no clue what your doing. If you can put your pride aside and deal with this fact, you may begin to see this frustrating experience as your way to learn your characters moves, attacks, counters and most importantly blocking and parrying skills.
Sorry but button smashing your way through this game just isn't going to cut the mustard.
Enemies will come at you in huge overwhelming groups and trying to fight them on their terms will quickly prove futile. The best thing to do is to first study their attacking patterns by blocking and parrying before you strike. I found that carefully timed counter attacks after exposing an enemies weakness is usually the way to victory.
Don't get too comfortable attacking dazed enemies as they can quickly recover before throwing a few unexpected counters of their own. This doesn't mean you shouldn't fight aggressively, just be wary and proceed with caution to avoid dying too much.
Once you start getting the hang of things, you may want to move unto improving your parrying techniques with your off-hand weapon. A well timed parry will reward you with a very slim chance to wreak havoc on enemies. Achieving this isn't always easy but incredibly satisfying if done right.
To begin you must wait for your enemy to launch an attack, this is risky but if you can fire your off-hand gun half way through this attack you will momentarily stun your foe. Moving quickly with an R1 counter attack will unleash a devastating move capable of causing immense damage to them and surrounding enemies.
