Assassin's Creed creators have said they do have an idea of how to eventually end the Assassins creed series whenever that will be. Assassins Creed 4's director Ashraf Ismail confirmed with Eurogamer that the franchise's bosses did have a series ending in mind.
Ashraf said, "We have several creative teams, and the main brand team overseeing the entire project. So within each strand we do have an overall picture of the entire story, and we know how and when we plan to complete the story."

"Even though we know where the end is, Assassins Creed is a yearly title. It really also depends on what the fans of the games want. We have taken several factors into consideration, and we do have space to fit more games into our timeline, but there is an end."

Ashraf's announcement reminds us of another article we recently wrote about, discussing the future of video games becoming more like popular TV series. Take Watch Dogs 10 year game plan for example, another project by Ubisoft. Developers are starting to create games that consumers will connect with on an emotional level, including cliff hangers to the end that leave you with more questions than answers as you eagerly await the next game with your wallets hanging out.

Ashraf Ismail also mentioned that the advantage they now have with multiple Assassin's creed games, is each team being able to share notes and hints towards future entries and of its grand finale.

"We are now able to add new material earlier into our games than we could before, for example in Assissin's Creed 4 we have Edward, a character from Assassin's Creed 3. On top of this, we also have more features in our games that could lead to other possibilities in the future. The entire collection of Ubisoft studios gets at least 2 years to work on each Assassin's Creed game."

Ismail finally hinted at the new Assassin's Creed 5 game currently in development by Ubisoft Toronto, the creators of the Splinter Cell: Blacklist game, headed by one of the AC series original co-operative creator Jade Raymond.
