The latest word on the streets is that Sony are planning to bring back classic titles like Shenmue and Yakuza to the Playstation platforms. Adam Boyes from Sony explains that the company is currently developing games Playstation fans want and that also includes titles like Shenmue and Yakuza.

In an interview with Kotaku Boyes said, "When we began the third-party production team. It was birthed out of necessity. We had tons of publishers and a lot of amazing content from various platforms and regions, unavailable in our territory."

Adam Boyes then went on to explain that Sony have been listening to their fans, and have been working on providing the kind of games most of you have been requesting on Sony platforms.

"We have an incredibly huge list and we are calling everyone trying to get as much of those games on Playstation's  platform. There are a lot of complications and technical issues that come around clearances and intellectual property."

In regards to Shenmue and Yakuza fans out there. Adam Boyes said those are the games Sony have been paying a lot of focus and attention towards.

"We get massive amounts of requests for Yakuza, and a ton of requests for Shenmue. We have seen the lists," said Adam.  "We have people working on compiling those lists and placing them in order of priority, based on the level of requests we have received. To date I believe there are over 10,000 mentions across various social forum threads on those particular titles so those are the ones we are focused on."

Adam Boyes also mentioned that fans should expect to start seeing ports onto Playstation platforms within the next 6 months and gamers should stay tuned for more announcements.
Now we are uncertain if Boyes was referring to the Playstaion 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita or all the above so we will keep our eyes and ears open as more interesting news comes to light from Sony HQ.
