CounterSpy Confirmed for Playstation 4, Slick Brand New Trailer Unveiled
March 13th, 2014, by Maya Mayfield
Dynamighty are bringing their latest espionage game CounterSpy to the Playstation 4 and PS vita this summer 2014. David Nottingham Dynamighty's creative director shared the news with us today, explaining that when they initially partnered with Sony to work on the CounterSpy project, the PS4 was but a distant dream somewhere in the future.
Dynamighty had initially intended to release CounterSpy on the PS3, PS Vita, iOS and Android devices, but decided to re-work the game for Playstation 4 after they had a steady stream of requests from people to release CounterSpy on the PS4.
CounterSpy had even been featured on several websites and forums un-officially as a Playstation 4 release title, despite nothing being confirmed from Dynamighty's studio, so David is finally pleased to confirm the rumors that CounterSpy will be in fact launching on PS4 in Summer 2014.
David tell us that the team have been excited working with the PS4 development kits, making full use of the extra horse power and possibilities the Playstation 4 now gives them. Despite this, David does mention that Dynamighty are also fully committed to still making CounterSpy the best it could possibly be, both on the PS3, PS Vita and mobile devices as well.
A pretty awesome feature he shared with us is the ability to link the mobile version of CounterSpy with the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita versions in order to share your progress across all the devices. As you progress through the game, you will be able to gather certain intelligences which can then be shared on all devices. Example once you unlock a particular weapon on the PS4 version, it will now be available on the PS3, PS Vita and mobile devices.
Take a look at the brand new Trailer below and tell us what you think. You can keep in touch with the progress of CounterSpy by following Dynamighty's weekly development updates on their blog and you can say hi to the team on twitter @dynamighty
