SHAREfactory On Playstation 4, 1.70 Update Will Make Sharing Fun

Sony announced last month at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) that a major system update for the Playstation 4 was on its way, with a lot of  new features being added from requests from the Playstation community.

We are pleased to reveal that the PS4 software update 1.70 will be available very soon, including exciting new additions as a direct result from all of your great feedback.

Scott McCarthy, Director of Product Planning and Software Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment America has said, "the new update will be extremely significant," before sharing a sneak peek video of what PS4 owners can expect from the new system update.




Welcome To SHAREfactory

SHAREfactory is a rich video editing suite for the PS4, making it much easier to customize your captured gameplay videos, before sharing it on your various social networks.  SHAREfactory now makes video capturing, editing, personalizing, adding effects, filters, transitions, themes  and sharing to your social networks a simple 123 process.  With SHAREfactory you can now personalize your videos by adding text messages, stickers, audio and even commentary with picture-in-picture ability thanks to the Playstation Camera. You can also import you very own music to the custom soundtrack, giving your gameplay video a truly unique and personal touch.

Share Your Epic-ness with the entire Planet

Once you have finished editing your gameplay video and personalizing it just the way you want. You can now easily share it to social networks like Facebook or export it via a USB device to upload elsewhere. Another SHARE enhancement being included in the latest 1.70 update is the ability to change your gameplay recording time to shorter increments, you can now choose exactly who to share your masterpiece with on the SHARE screen and default saves for screenshots and video clips can now be easily removed. Part of the new addition to these SHARE enhancements on the PS4 1.70 update is the ability to switch off HDCP, allowing you to capture video directly from your HDMI output. The benefit of doing this is to record and share longer gameplay clips.

Play Video Games as Soon as it's launched

Scott informs us that gaining access to your Playstation 4 games is a top priority for Sony, so from all the positive feedback received regarding the Play as you download feature, Sony are building on this premise enabling  you to now pre-download your select pre-ordered game several days before its official release, if you have the automatic-download feature enable. This way you will be able to play your Pre-Ordered digital game the moment it is unlocked on release day.

We think the new SHAREfactory features is a great way to really  make gameplay video editing personal and unique. With so many platforms like Twitch  and Ustream giving gamers a platform to shine, branding your gameplay channel with effects, stickers and audio cues is such a great way to gain followers and build your very own gaming empire.

Having the ability to instantly play your Pre-ordered, Pre-downloaded games the exact moment it is released and unlocked online is definitely a major thumbs up from us. As technology advances allowing us faster access to information and services, we are glad Sony are moving with the times and making it easier for gamers to gain access to the latest games they want to play instantly.
