Who Will Be Crowned King Of the Court?
Virgin Gaming and NBA 2K have been partnering up for several years to bring some of the most exciting tournaments in the history of gaming. From the very first event held at the Hardwood Suite in Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas where the final 8 contestants faced off in the plush Hardwood Suite complete with an 80 inch giant screen TV and a half basketball court in the room.
The event has continued to grow since then and Zack Zeldin Virgin Gaming Co-founder has said this years event, titled King of the Court will be held exclusive on PlayStation's platform, with the final match-up happening live at at MLG Studios in New York City.
The current finalists had to battle thousands of competitors, during a 4 week leaderboard challenge where only the top player from each week was chosen from the leaderboard and placed into a single elimination round. The very best 16 NBA 2K14 players were randomly matched against each other starting from the 9th of April and ending April 10th.
From that tournament only two finalists
emerged the victor, "Tommy Zak from Wisconsin and Semaj Riddick from Virginia.
Zeldin has said the final competition between these two players will be streamed live for the entire world to see via the link below, with Tommy and Semaj playing a best of 3 championship rounds on the Playstation 4.
The event will be taking place live on Saturday April 19th at 3:00 PM Pacific on www.mlg.tv/kingofthecourt
