This may very well be an over confident statement to make from the small indie team at Brighton Studios, considering shooters like Destiny, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Battlefield Hardline are yet to make their debut, but after our first hands-on sneak peek at various industry events, we think Futurlab's Velocity 2X may just be the little indie to rattle some majors off their very high horses.

Taking inspirations from classics like Flashback, Futurlab have developed a unique looking art stylized gem. You take control of Lt. Kai Tana, a no nonsense, half human, half cyborg warrior who must defeat the evil Vokh. Gamers will be able to navigate around a futuristic  sci-fi world, teleporting, running, tele-dashing, jumping and shooting in three-hundred and sixty degrees. Players will fight Mega size Bosses requiring you to destroy them from the inside out as seen in todays trailer below.

Our Thoughts . . .

From the sneak previews we saw at E3 2014, we were very impressed by the way Lt, Kai Tana looks, plays and feels. Futurlab has spent a great deal of time creating the right tone for Velocity 2x, combining great thumping dance style audio to compliment its bright colorful neon future graphics.

Just like Housemarque's addictive space shooter Resogun, we think Velocity 2x will definitely surprise a lot of people, proving Triple A games  aren't the only titles worth your time and money.

Velocity 2x will be available this 3rd of September as Cross Buy and Cross Save on PS4 and PS Vita. Stay tuned for more info and watch out for our full upcoming review.
