Bungie Working On New System To Protect Gamers Online
September 26, 2014 By Richard LoisWhen it comes to social interactive gaming, most people will tell you the experience isn't always pleasant unless when playing with friends.
It's not uncommon to come across someone hurling insults at you in one of the many online multiplayer games of today. This small minority of players are one of the reasons most people choose to stay out of public events and with Destiny being a socially driven game, this was one issue Bungie could not ignore especially after Halo.
Now one of the major complaints people had against Destiny was the inability to use voice communications in the Universe, but Bungie has recently explained why and what they intend to do to make Destiny's social element an enjoyable experience for all.
Our Thoughts . . .
I am really glad Bungie are going to give players the option of opt-in and out of voice communication in public matchmade events. At least if someone is saying something you don't like, you can always opt-out of the conversation. Beyond this first major step to protecting players from abuse. I think Bungie could add a voice recognition system able to flag commonly grievous languages in order to penalizing persistent perpetrators.
