E3 2013: Indie Prizes Round-Up
July 2nd 2013by Maya Mayfield
This year’s E3 was a terrific show for gamers all over the world with so many incredible games announced over the industry. It was an amazing experience being there at the press conference to once again reaffirm our commitment to gamers to create them the most innovative, creative game experiences and come up with a statement to indie developers all over the world that we truly are enthusiastic about their games and support them over the PlayStation ecosystem.
It is truly humbling to use such talented developers and publishers which could dream up and create games that any of us all just can’t seem to obtain enough of. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I joined Sony because I really like video games, and I expect that passion shows. The response has become overwhelming, and so many in the titles that I was thankful to introduce at E3 get turned the heads of fans and critics alike.
Each calendar year, reporters at leading game enthusiast publications promote the E3 Game Critics Awards to pick the titles they believe will shape one's destiny of this industry. I need to congratulate some of our publishing partners because of their recent nominations: Destiny, Watch_Dogs, Batman: Arkham Roots, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag and also the Elder Scrolls Online. In any sea of big-budget games coming from major publishers, several of our indies have shined, receiving acclaim for the titles. In fact, all the most effective Downloadable category nominees of the actual E3 Game Critics Awards will probably be available on PlayStation platforms once they launch.
Across the industry, we’re seeing media and fans adore these indies, the same way we did after we first laid eyes their video game titles. We featured the nine indie game titles on stage at our press conference and had in excess of 30 indie games on the actual show floor at E3, which shows the amount of we believe and love these kinds of creative, fun and innovative activities. Clearly reporters agreed, as many titles received awards and reputation across various categories, only some of which are listed below. Congratulations towards mastermind developers behind the video game titles! You all made this occur!
