The Order: 1886 on Playstation 4 will be a New London City

Ready At Dawn Studios has just revealed some brand news screen shots from their upcoming blockbuster game, The Order: 1886 on the PS4, and it looks incredible!
Ru Weerasuriya – CEO and Creative Director, Ready At Dawn Studios said, when they were designing their alternative history in The Order: 1886. Their intentions and purpose was to build an environment as believable as possible, while adding their own unique spin on real authentic places in the British Capital city.

This alternate futuristic, yet old style of London will appear familiar to everyone, but development in advanced technology will take center stage, as you make you way through the nations capital city. One of the key elements to this alternative London will be the use of Electricity, which players will hear humming through the streets as you explore the environment. Gas lamps are replaced with street lights, and there is even a London subway system that will be operational running through buildings above ground and through-out the city. Ru mentioned that the electric signs lining the street will almost give gamers the impression of being at Times Square.

Another major feature of this alternative London universe will be in the skyline. Though most will appear consistent with familiar sights like St Paul's Cathedral and the gorgeous Big Ben clock. The skyline will be interrupted by huge watch towers all across the city. Their searchlights will be constantly scanning the cities ground and sky.  Gamers will also get to see flying airship mooring towers. In this London there will be no time for sight seeing unfortunately, or visiting Prince William and Princess Kate's new baby boy.  "The city will be under 24 hour patrol by a squadron of dirigibles called the sentinels, reminding gamers that all is not as it should be" according to Ru.

This Neo-style London is the result of Mankind's industrial revolution. In this universe, the human race has advanced weaponry way ahead of its time. Kind of like the alternate universe in the popular TV Series Fringe.

Players in The Order: 1886 will have access to rifle guns that shoot electricity from the E3 trailer we saw this year. You will be able to communicate with your squadron, and give commands. Gamers will have access to a cool weapon called the thermite gun, which allows you to shoot a cloud of inflammable thermite that can then be  ignited by flames or shooting a flare into it.

In addition to this, Ru explains that you will still be able to use more traditional weapons, common to the time period like black powder guns.  (But why would you want to do that, when you can shoot a thermite cloud/flare gun and watch your enemies sizzle into crispy bacon? . . .  mmm Bacon. . . )
