In early January Sony Computer Entertainment America, announced they were selling their main US headquarters located at 550 Madison Ave, in NY for 1.1 billion dollars. Sony has taken that money and re-invested it in their brand new state of the art headquarters right in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Sony Computer Entertainment America opened its doors to the world media today, showing off their brand new headquarters in Silicon Valley for around 2,000 employees.
In a discussion with Bloomberg, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton said, "The new HQ is 450,000 sq feet, it's very hard to find such a plot of land in the valley, very rare.
Sony had been eyeing this plot of land for over 6 years, and Mr Tretton described it as a "True corporate campus, for the first time in SCEA's existence.
Sony's new state-of-the-art HQ comes with all the bells and whistles you can imagine from the corporate gaming, music, and electronics giant. From a modern music studio with nineteen mixing and editing rooms, to two large live recording spaces enough to fit a twenty piece orchestra. The 2,000 employees at the campus are
served gourmet meals everyday,
and they have their own gym to keep them healthy, happy and productive.
