Battlefield 4 On PS4 Requires 34.9GB Storage Space

Battlefield 4 on Playstation 4 Requires 34.9GB of your Console storage space.

It appears that 500GB of storage space on your Playstation 4 may actually not be enough after all, as recent reports by VideoGamer.com indicates larger hard disk space is required to install a lot of the bigger game titles set for retail and digital release on PS4.

Take Battlefield 4 for example, it has come to light that the FPS will require an incredible 34.9GB of storage space, while games like Call of Duty: Ghosts carries an install of 49GB, other PS4 launch titles like Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall will need around 37 - 39.7GB

Just doing the basic maths here, if we divide 500GB by say the average storage space of 40GB which is what most games appear to require on the PS4 console. It means you will be out of space around your 12 or 13th downloadable game, yikes!

But worry not folks, as Sony's Big Boss man himself Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the installs are not permanent but caching data instead, requiring less HDD space than we previously believed.
So Instead of 100GB storage to save COD Ghosts and Killzone for example, you will only need around 50GB to cache that data.

Regardless 50GB is still a lot of cache space for two games so it may still be worth investing in a terabyte HDD just to avoid running out of space on some of your favourite games coming later to the PS4.

Battlefield 4 is out today for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 in the U.S. and out on Friday in Europe.
The Playstation 4 version will be out on release day.
Playstation 4 is now less than 3 weeks away from shipping, and will be available in stores 15th November U.S. and 29th of November Europe.

What are your thoughts on these huge GB storage spaces on PS4 Games? What other options do you think gamers have who prefer downloading games instead of buying physical hard copies? Let us know.
