Need for Speed Rivals is the brand new title from Ghost Games the team from Gothenburg, Sweden. Ghost Games are excited to be the first driving game in history to be debuting on PS4's official launch this coming  friday after DriveClubs unfortunate delay.
We got a chance to get our hands on Need for Speed Rivals to see if it could truly be the best drive of our life.
From the start you can choose to either be a cop or racer speeding down a huge network of roads, rocky terrains, rainy hills and dry dusty deserts. Right of the block we were very impressed by the Alldrive feature allowing instant multiplayer functions.

Inspired by the California coast, our race began in the default location of Redview County.

Using the DualShock 4 I began my race as a cop, with a few players already working their way through the course.  With a flick of L1 i was in the race in high pursuit chasing down a group of racers that had just zoomed past me. Not long in and I was closing down on one of the racers, with my sirens blazing, looking for a deadly take down.  I saw my opportunity and fired a devastating shock wave blasting the racer right of the road. There is a satisfying feeling of adrenaline rush when you manoeuvre a vehicle of the main road and into brick wall.

When you complete several assignments as a cop or a racer, you are rewarded with better cars and upgrades designed to give you  a game changing advantage. For example Cops can also deploy electrical fields, while Racers can break speed limits using turbo boots and radio jammers.

Need for Speed Rivals boasts a 100 miles of drivable roads that will take you a while to get from one side to the other. There is so much to see and do driving at a consistent 30 frames per second, at native 1080p. You can even switch screens and play Rivals on your PS Vita if the TV becomes unavailable without as much as a connection lag to slow you down.

We think Ghost Games have done an incredibly job with Need for Speed Rivals. The gameplay is great, it looks stunning and throwing the car around Fast and Furious style felt very rewarding using the PS4 DualShock4 Controller.

Need for Speed Rivals is out on Playstation 4 this week on 15 November and we think it will satisfy even the most hardcore racing fans out there.
