Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft's Corporate vice president of strategy and marketing has indirectly admitted to Xbox One trailing behind to Playstation 4, but blames production issues rather than consumer demands. "Demand is exceeding supply in our 13 launch markets and Xbox One is sold out at most retailers." Said Yusuf Mehdi on News.Xbox.com  wednesday, December 11th as Microsoft announced it had sold over 2 million consoles in its first 18 days, in comparison to Sony PS4 selling over 2.1 million units.

We understand the PS4 has had a head start launching on November 15th, retailing for $399, while Xbox One came out a week later on November 22nd priced at $499, but we still think the most economically priced next-gen console being the PS4 would always win the battle of the console war hands down.

What do you think of Yusuf Mehdi's recent announcement. Is production issues the only blame for Xbox one trailing behind the PS4 or do you think Microsoft may need to reconsider their pricing options to be more competitive?
