Masaki Kawase. The Lead Software Engineer & Shader Architect from Silicon Studio, is excited to talk about game development for PlayStation 4. Silicon Studio's has been partners with Sony Computer Entertainment for years. Working on Exclusive PS3 titles like 3 Dot Game Heroes. Silicon Studio's couldn't be more excited to now be working on games for the PS4.
PlayStation is in pole position with the PS3 and PS Vita, but PS4 will be an incredible upgrade, bringing advanced, graphics and cutting-edge gameplay.
Silicon Studio's are made up of two parts:
They are involved in creating traditional games, but they also provide middleware solutions to game developers around the Planet. YEBIS 2 is their most recent middleware Solution, giving a real-time post-processing lens simulation. Middleware, is recognised in Square Enix's trailer of Final Fantasy XV. Silicon Studio's has also worked with Square Enix for a number of years, and they are excited to incorporate the post-processing effects software into their game engine. Agni's Philosophy looks amazing, and some of that credit is due to the developmental research and work that was put into YEBIS 2.
As for now there are no other software like YEBIS 2 that can give developers post-processing physically-based optics simulation, The software can grant developers multiple-colour customisable glare effects, advanced and in-depth field, motion blur, very high dynamic range choices, active colour adjustments, and multiple-platform compatibility, and the YEBIS 2 can do this all in real-time. The proprietary algorithms they developed helps to balance between pre-post- game rendering speed, quality, and execution.
YEBIS 2 has been in Research and development for a decade, and you will see it in more and more games, once developers start working on next gen games.
