You Just Need to Know When To Stop
January 20th, 2014 By Maya MayfieldNow we know the gaming industry is a majority male run business but there are women, myself included who also love playing, writing and developing videos games in this industry. It's difficult for some men to actually comprehend this concept as they sometimes stare blankly as I explain my in-depth knowledge of the industry as well as my personal favorite games, which include shoot-em-ups and beat-em-ups. Speaking of beat-em-ups, I think some reporters one in particular by the name of Josh Mattingly could do with a hundred hand slaps courtesy of E. Honda from street fighter, after his obscene sexual innuendoes towards a female game developer.
The story was first revealed earlier today by Laralyn McWilliams a game designer who had posted a blurred out Facebook conversation which occurred on Jan 18th between Josh Mattingly founder and CEO of indie gaming website IndieStatik and her female friend regarding an unannounced PS4, and Xbox One title. The conversation soon quickly became inappropriate on Mattingly's end as he started saying things like I will kiss you on the v*g*na, and let me know if you need a p*nis.
The female game developer tried to stay professional, diverting the conversation back on track but Mattingly was already on a roll, with his last few comments too rude to even display.
Josh Mattingly has since taken to his website to apologize for his remarks blaming his response on too many alcopops, but maybe he should be blaming his mind and his hands for writing that nonsense after what I can only assume was him playing with his box of tic - tacs . . . moments before.
