Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments Coming to Playstation 3 and Playstation 4
Jan 31st 2014, by Maya MayfieldOlga Ryzhko from Frogwares has informed us that their latest game, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments will be making its way to the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 later this year. Frogwares has been developing Sherlock Holmes games for over a decade now, with the team finding fresh new inspiration from the recent movies and series of the famous english detective.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments is a game that will require all your detective skills and thoughts. The game is designed primarily towards investigations, with an emphasis on narration. There is a lot of exploring, clue finding, talking to suspects and witnesses, before gathering all your collected data to bring the criminal to justice, or helping the wrongly accused go free.
Frogwares really wanted to push the boundaries in this new Sherlock Holmes game immersing players emotionally and intellectually into the world of Crime and Punishment like never before. So this time the team decided to offer six different cases, with six different outcomes that could see a different suspect incriminated for the crime every single time.
This should definitely make for an interesting challenge as the possibilities of each case replayed again from another approach should bring about some very interesting results.
Frogwares also mention that Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments on PS4 and PS3, will include some brand new gameplay mechanics and features like character portraits which will play a pivotal role during your investigations. While interrogating suspects, you will now be able to uncover secret clues, by the characters facial expressions and body language.
Players will also able to use these clues from the suspects reactions to piece together other important information other detectives may have overlooked.
Frogwares have been working on a new deduction board that allows players to carefully piece together all their clues during fact finding missions, as this is the first time in the Sherlock Holmes series that the famous detective can actually get it wrong by sending an innocent person to jail. Olga said, "it is important that you do your research properly because once you have named the guilty criminal, you will be faced with an important decision to either condemn them for the crime or absolve them. This segment of the game is vital to your overall progress and future missions, as decision you make will be scored on your moral choices and level of detective work, which can then be compared with friends and the entire community."
"Using the power of Unreal's Engine players will enjoy an improved visual experience in the world of Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment," says Olga, with the team working hard on the smallest of details to make players believe they were actually the famous detective.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments will be available later this year on PS4 and PS3 and you can discover more about this interesting title by visiting Frogwares on their official website here.
