Team Work Is Essential In Killzone Shadowfall: Intercept
May 16, 2014 By Mont BrownKillzone Shadow Fall is getting a new online co-oporative mode with Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept. This new co-operation mode is set for a June release and is packed with brand new, 4 player online co-op modes to the original game. In Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept, you and three of your friend will be amongst the elite VSA team, also know as the Intelligence Squad Alpha. You will be operating behind enemy territory on a mission to intercept and relay sensitive Helghast military transmissions back to VSA HQ.
In order to keep the enemy back and successfully transmit the intel to VSA headquarters it is absolutely imperative that you work as a team. Your overall team scores indicates how close you are to establishing an uplink, you can increase your hacking uplink by defending it from attempts of capture by Helghast soldiers, or by 'banking" Personal Points from accumulated kills, recaptures and ability uses. You can even achieve bonuses that give you access to jetpacks and artillery strikes.
Once an uplink has been lost to the enemy or you have to respawn after taking critical damage, your overall team score will be marked with a penalty. If all members of your team are killed in battle and your overall team points are too low to enable a respawn then its game over.
Just like you and your friends have a mission to complete, the AI-controlled Helghast soldiers in Killzone Shadow Fall intercept also have theirs. The enemy will change tactics and roles of attack once an uplink has been captured, so you and your team must adapt your defensive strategy in order to repel your adversaries. On top of all this, you and your friends should expect to go up against familiar faces, as your foes can call on special Helghast Warriors with unique skills based on characters from Killzone Shadow Fall's single player campaign.
Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept has 4 arena maps that are all inspired by environments and locations from the single player game and will be out this coming June. The game will be available free of charge for Killzone Shadow Fall Season Pass holders and Poria informs us that a standalone version of the co-op mode experience will also be released later this year.
Stay tuned as more details on maps, weapons and soldier abilities will be revealed soon.
