Sony Always Standing Behind Indie Talents
July 5th, 2014 By Maya MayfieldShuhei Yoshida, Sony's Big Boss man has promised Sony will always support new and independent talents despite only four out of ten indie games making Sony any money.
Sony Computer Entertainment have always been recognized as a company that supports young upcoming developers despite the lack of financial rewards the company tends to gain from these ventures. Regardless of this revelation, Sony promises to always support new talent, as explained by the Studios Worldwide President, Shuhei Yoshida during his panel discussion at Gamelab in Barcelona just a few days ago.
Our Thoughts . . .
Big Boss Man Shuhei Yoshida makes a great point, proving why we have always been major fans of Sony. PlayStation's unwavering support for indie developers has been one of the main reasons for the companies success, both with gamers and developers the world over.
Though this may not be the kind of news an investor would like to hear. It does however show how important it is we all continue supporting new developers, as they are the real life blood and soul of the industries future.
Despite having seen and played some big budget triple AAA games on PS4. We have also had an absolute blast playing some pretty awesome indie titles like Doki Doki Universe, Resogun and Transistor as well.
It is these sort of games and their respective developers that continue to keep us excited about the future of the industry and that is one thing I am sure we can all agree on.
