That Sinister Glare and Evil Snarl!

From the opening intro of The Tomorrow Children, we were taken back by the subtle, yet very cryptic opening images and wordings that introducing us to Q-Games new PS4 Exclusive and while the idea of a world where you share the same consciousness may appear to be a good idea, if you delve much deeper into the images and video trailer from Q-Games Tomorrow Children you will soon uncover something far more sinister at play.

Dylan Cuthbert President and Producer of the game explains Tomorrow children is about an alternative futuristic world not too far from our own time, where the 1960s Russian experiment to merge all human thought into a one world global melding pool was actually a success, until it led to the destruction of the planet. Fast forward 90 years later and the few remaining humans left are trying to rebuild society back to its former glory.

You take on the role of a projected clone tasked with journeying into The Void to recreate humanity. The survivors from the failed experiment have built a world inspired by the ideals of Marxist from the 1960s, which over time has been twisted and warped over the course of history, affecting even the way technology in this alternate reality advances.

As you start your mission exploring the mine for materials, you are classed as an ordinary citizen. Every little thing you do in the game from helping people to gathering materials can be used to build and protect the society from the giant monsters lurking within the void. These activities will gain you notoriety, which you can use at the labour office to earn coupons from the government, which you can then exchange or trade for better skills and special items. Players will have to work together to survive and the things you do through out the game will be projected unto other players realities for them to see.

Our Thoughts . . .

We really like the direction and idea of Q-Games new social interactive title. It not only pushes the envelope of everything typical and mundane but sort of feels like a big social experiment as well.

First thing we noticed in Dylan Cuthbert's description of Tomorrow's Children is in this alternate future, Russia's mind melting one global experiment did work. Though Dylan does not explain how the experiment later causes global annihilation, he did mention the remaining humans are attempting to rebuild the world back to its former glory not the world we are currently living in! As you help to rebuild the society your deeds are projected into other gamers realities or better yet consciousness. While the giant monsters in the void that Daniel talks about could very well be referring to those who do not share this one conscious system.

It's this sort of group thinking agenda that strips humanity of what makes the world we currently live in fundamentally beautiful, though imperfect. The ability to choose your own path and make your own choices is what makes life both exciting and frightening.

What we do find intriguing about Tomorrow Children is that the game does pull away from the unrealistic concept of the one man versus a thousand enemy sort of plot, instead focusing on the victory of working together for the greater glory for all. It shows us there is a level of thinking developers are starting to embrace when it comes to designing social interactive tools for us to communicate with one another via the gaming platform and we love it!

We can't wait to discover more from this title and will keep you posted on Future updates soon.
