Finding Exotic Gear Might Not Be In Your Destiny, Lady Luck Is Not Your Friend

50 Hours Of Gameplay and Exotic Armor and Weapons Is Still Nowhere To Be Found

I have never been a gambling man for one simple reason. I never bl**dy win. This has always been the case when it comes to playing games like the National lottery or going Vegas with friends. Coming to terms with this wasn't exactly difficult as we have all witnessed someone we know with a gambling habit spending their entire wages, rent or even mortgage money in hopes of winning that big life changing jackpot. So being aware of my not so fortunate luck at winning stuff, I wasn't surprised after 50 hours of gameplay in Destiny that the holy grail of exotic gear was yet to drop for my guardian.

I have bought some legendary and exotic gear of Xur - Agent of the Nine with strange coins and motes of light but as far as actually finding exotic gear while on my grind through weekly heroic events, PvP and PvE missions - I am yet to bring forth meaningful exotic fruit for all my time and effort.

This randomized system of end-game looting isn't flawed as those familiar with MMO games like WOW would tell you, but it is terribly disappointing, at least to those whose friends always seem to find exotic gear even when they are not looking for it.

I have heard some people have even discovered several exploits to getting Exotic gear, but I didn't want my Destiny experience reduced to cheating as it will eventually put me off playing the game entirely. Maybe I need to change my thinking process and just really start believing the exotic armor will appear in my timeline as I have read from positive thinking books like The Secret.

The least Bungie could do in my opinion is reward players who have put in a certain amount of hours into the game with some sort of mission that guarantees an exotic gear once in a while. They don't have to give it all at once just drip feed it enough to keep us unlucky folks from losing hope.

For now it's looking like the only guaranteed way I can get exotic gear is to buy it once a week from Xur, but I am still hopeful because I know it's out there somewhere and maybe today just might be your lucky day to find an exotic gear too.
