The PS4 will record every fifteen minutes of gameplay in the background for gamers to publish online.
Clarification of the length of recording time needed to be explained when Neil Brown, head of Sony's European research and development group, said the PS4 uses a dedicated hardware encoder to continually capture several minutes of gameplay footage.
Several reporters thought he said seven minutes of gameplay, while other thought he said several minutes. So after all the confusion, a spokesperson from Sony has finally revealed the actual recoding time will be continually fifteen minutes of gameplay.
To show your friends how much of a Big Boss you are by sharing that unbelievable headshot you just did on KillZone: Shadow fall, or that recording breaking lap on Driveclub. You simply need to bring up the pre-recorded data on the DualShock 4's share button. You will now have the option to crop the game footage, and share it amongst several social networks via Ustream.
Bring on the bragging rights.
