What The Future Holds For Playstation 4 Graphics

So what does this mean you may wonder?
The new playstation 4 has been built with future developers in mind. It was designed to make things easier for dev teams to expand on the foundations Sony has created. Mark Cerny said most of the games coming out in the first 1-2 years on the playstation 4, isn't going to be using the rich feature set, but by year 3-4, we will begin to see that change as developers get used to working with the
general-purpose graphics-processor units.
Mark goes on further explaining that these processor units will be used for more advanced game development not just directly connected to the graphics.
So for example: We could see the processor being utilised towards the games physics, collision detection, and world simulation. Mark also addresses concerns regarding the graphics of future games being affected by the GPU being spread across other components.
Mark Cerny says that within a 1/30 of a second frame not all the GPU is being utilised. This means once developers are familiar with the new systems architecture, they will be able make better use of allocating the GPU, and by doing this the graphics will not be affected in the slightest.
So what does this mean to the core gamers least bit concerned with all this techie geeky stuff?
It basically means that in the next few years, once game developers have kicked off their training wheels, and no longer need Sony (Mommy and Daddy) to hold their hand. We are going to be seeing and experiencing the full capabilities of what the PS4 can really do, not just in gorgeous graphics, but in the computers Ai, world simulation, and game physicality as well. (How awesome is that going to be!)
