The Beta version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was free to public access today and the servers were swamped with over, One hundred and twenty thousand connections, according to Square Enix.

The heavy flow of traffic led to the developers opening two brand new servers in Japan this morning. (Ultima and Typhon.) The traffic hitting the site didn't slow down forcing Square Enix  to halt character creations on all North American and European servers this evening, so they could open another two new servers (Exodus and Faerie.)
There are now 44 servers hosting the open beta game. Twenty two in North America and Europe and another 22 in Japan, all of which are fully rammed to capacity.

What do you think of the beta testing? lets us know.
