Twitch archiving planned for Playstation 4

Sony has re-confirmed they will be planning to include Twitch livestream archiving in the future to PS4. We don't have an exact time frame on when this will take place, or the level of quality Twitch Broadcaster can set on their channels, as high definition streaming on Twitch is currently unavailable.

Creating a Twitch account and Live streaming your games is a simple and very easy process on the PS4. Every Playstation 4 owner can stream their gameplay on the broadcasting channel for all the 45 million strong Twitch community to see. As it stands the ability to automatically archive your streams for later viewing and editing is unavailable on PS4, but you can log into Twitch and watch live games on various different broadcasters channels.

In a conversation with Joystiq, Twitch Vice president of Marketing Mathew Dipetro said, "We find the ability to archive your games as part of what makes the broadcasting experience exciting, considering broadcaster and their viewers love to be able to share some of their most memorable moments with friends. It is up to our partners to decide if archiving is a feature they want to include as part of their Twitch integration, so we try to encourage them to keep this functionality at the top of their agenda."
