PS Now Streaming Game Service Is Coming Summer 2014
January 7, 2014 By Mont BrownAt CES 2014 Las Vegas event today, Sony announced its latest addition to the Playstation roster with Playstation Now (PS Now) the brand new streaming game service. Playstation Now will allow you to stream popular hits and classic games like the Last Of Us, and GTA V from PS3's library archives first on the Playstation 4 and PS3 consoles, followed by PS Vita.
In addition to this. Sony revealed that Playstation Now will also support Sony's latest 2014 US models of its BRAVIA TV with plans to eventually expand PS Now beyond Playstation's gaming platforms and Sony products to allow games to be streamed across a wide range of internet-linked devices.
Using the power of Gaikai's advanced cloud-based technology, Playstation Now will enable you to:
- Access and Play video games instantly across several devices, just as easy as streaming a movie of Netflix.
- Stream full copies of games to all your Playstation compatible devices including the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita as well as non-Playstation products like the 2014 Bravia TV models, expanding beyond that to dozens of other internet-linked devices.
- PS Now will also allow you to play the latest updated versions of your games with easy access to your most recent saves. This now means as your games are stored and hosted in the cloud you can access it from anywhere in the world as long as you have a good internet connection of course.
Sony are also offering you a choice on how to access PS Now content. You can rent a game by its title based on your specific game of interest, or you can also subscribe to the service which will give you a much wider scope to explore a range of available games. Playstation Now will start Beta program testing in the US at the end of January, with the full service expected to be available to everyone by this coming summer.
