Could PS4 Exclusive Rime Be Another Decision Microsoft Live To Regret?
February 20th, 2014, by Maya MayfieldWe came across some very interesting leaked documents today which revealed that Microsoft said no to what is now a Playstation 4 exclusive game. The intriguing PS4 exclusive title known as Rime by Tequila Works was once first offered to Microsoft to develop for $3 million dollars as an Xbox Live Arcade version of what Tequila Works was then calling, 'Echoes of Siren.' The game which was pitched as a mixture of Gauntlet and Minecraft meets Jason and the Argonauts was supposed to be developed also for Windows 8, and Windows Phone.
When Phil Spencer Microsofts exec was questioned on why Microsoft turned down the now Playstation 4 exclusive game, he responded saying, "Part of the Job is living with mistakes. We Passed on Guitar Hero . . . I can list a lot of regretful games we missed. I try to keep my attention on the titles we did ship."
"We'll miss a few, it's the nature of the beast," said, Spencer, "it is why I don't hate when titles ship elsewhere. Cool to see a teams idea turn into an awesome game."
Rime is currently under development for PS4 with no announcement of a a release date yet. It was voted the best game of Gamescom 2013 by IGN Italia and received so much accolade from people who attended the event. Lets just wait and see if Microsoft made the right choice handing Rime over to team Sony. It may just be yet another decision they live to regret.
