FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Playstation 3 To Playstation 4 How To Upgrade Guide

The weekend is almost upon us and for many looking forward to Spring break next week, lots of adventure awaits you all in the land of Eorzea, FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. For those already playing FFXIV: ARR on their Playstation 3 but would like to upgrade to the PS4's version. Here is your guide on how to do it. Before we begin with this tutorial, here is some general information to read first.

If you have played Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PS3, upgrading to the PS4 version is absolutely free. This new upgrade is available from today until the end of 2014. Be sure to log into your Playstation 3 version at least once, to ensure it is correctly registered on Square Enix's online servers. Those who upgrade from here on out will be unable to access the PS3 version of the game once the upgrade to PS4 has been completed.

So now that we have that out of the way, lets start;








Step 1: Grab your promotion code!

• Important note: The upgrade option has been planned to go live from 9am BST on Friday, April 11th.

• Start by logging into the MogStation via your Square Enix account, scroll to the Account Service section and choose the Service Account you would like to upgrade. 

• Once chosen, you will see a banner with the option to upgrade from Playstation 3 to Playstation 4. Click the banner.

• A new page will now appear with full details of the Upgrade Campaign, make sure to read it carefully as there are important information on the upgrade process. Once completed confirm that you agree with the terms and agreement and click on "Next." 

• On the next page you will be asked to confirm your decision to upgrade. If you have several accounts make sure at this point you have selected the right account to upgrade.  If everything is correct, click on  the "Upgrade  account button."

• A summary page will now appear along with your promotion code to allow the FFXIV: ARR to be downloaded from the PlayStation Store.  

Step 2: Retrieve your promotion code!

• Please be aware that those whom have already participated in the 2nd PlayStation 4 beta testing phase, this step is completely optional as you already have the game client installed on your console and only need to update it, however you will still need to go through the step 1 process above. 

• Fire up your PlayStation 4 and log into your Sony Entertainment Account, then access the Playstation Store from there.  

• Make sure the correct PlayStation profile is active before entering the store. This very import as promotional codes can only be used once! 
•  Choose the "Redeem Codes" option from the menu display found at the bottom left of the screen and then enter the Promotion Code. 

• Once this is done, confirm the regulations and begin download.

• If something does go wrong at this stage of the download, you can try and restart the process again using the "Library" menu option located in the PlayStation Store.
