The Last Of Us Remastered on PlayStation 4 is out July 29th, so we got a chance to test out the game early to discover exactly how it handles on PS4's console from last years release. The first thing we noticed about TLOUR was the immediate improvement in screen resolution. The leap from PlayStation 3's  720p to native 1080p on PlayStation 4  gives the graphics a major make-over. The sleek new visuals erases previous marginal errors, while taking full advantage of the crisp new higher resolution in the games beautiful yet tragic post-apocalyptic world.

What was really pleasantly surprising was the brand new frame-rate, with Naughty Dog setting  TLOUR at a smooth flowing 60 frames per second. The Last Of Us Remastered felt fluid at the higher framerate making character and camera controls feel much more natural and attentive during our play through.

Naughty Dog is also giving players the choice of locking The Last Of Us Remastered version on PS4 to 30 frames per second, for those who would like to play it that way, but from our personal experience we thought the game looks much better in 60FPS.

Beyond the obvious upgrades, we did also notice some very nice subtle effects on the games light and shadow contrast. The two main characters Joel and Ellie have also been visually retouched with a boost of color, texture and improvements to details on clothing and blood effects.

Overall The Last Of Us Remastered version remains the same, with the higher resolution and framerate helping to create a deeper immersive gameplay. The most notable difference was the R2 and L2 trigger buttons can now be used to control the point and shoot mechanics which took a little getting used to from the previous setup on the PlayStation 3, although you can switch back to the original classic R1 and L1 buttons if you prefer.

The Last Of Us Remastered PS4 Version will come packed with all the previously released Downloadable Content, including the awesome Left Behind story at a discounted price of Fifty dollars, which is great for PlayStation 4 owners who missed out on one of the best games of 2013.

Stay tuned for a full detailed review of The Last Of Us Remastered On PS4 coming soon.
