Activision's PR has published Destiny's first week of earnings in its first five days to the sound of $325 million dollars.

The information is based of data attained from Chart-Track, Activision, Blizzard internal estimates and various other first party and retail customer sale-through trends.

Bungie the developers of Destiny has also reported that over one hundred million hours of gameplay has been logged online by the end of its first week, with players having joined over one-hundred and thirty-seven million activities.

Our Thoughts . . .

Although Destiny is looking to be doing very well, let's not forget this rather impressive sales figure has been collected during one of the most controversial weeks in game reviewing history, as most major review sites gave the online FPS thumbs down for effort. What I will be very interested to see is just how sales trends pan out by next week, especially now that reviews are out.

As always, reviews are just one someone personal opinion, so if you are enjoying Destiny or planing on getting it, then don't let what others say put you off. The least you can do is head over to your local gaming outlet to try it for yourself before deciding to invest.

Is this weeks impressive sales record a true refection of Destiny's global success or just part of the hype train?  Leave your thoughts and comments below.
