PlayStation Community members should be pleased to know Sony are giving back five free days to active PS Plus members who experienced the unfortunate outage that had the online service down throughout the Christmas Holiday.  This extension is automatically applied to all accounts so there's no further action required on your part. We will also be posting when these additional days become available. Those whose PS Plus membership is set to finish before the extension kicks in will still be eligible to receive those five additional days back.

As part of Sony's good will gesture to make-up for the DDos attack on its servers by the cyber terrorist group Lizard Squad. The company is also offering a 10 percent discount code, good for a one-time cart purchase at the PlayStation Store. The discount code can be used at anytime on all digital products including new games, movies and TV shows.

In other similar news updates, the FBI have begun their investigations into the Lizard Squad after a distribution denial of service attack (DDos) took down both PSN and Xbox Live over the Christmas Holiday season. British police have also alleged arrested one of the members of the group after victims complained of stolen Paypal funds.

What are your thoughts on todays update from Sony? Leave your comments below and stay tuned for when these additional days will come into effect.
