Rogue Legacy Making its way to PS Vita, PS3, PS4
By Mont Brown
Sony supports indie developer Cellar Door Games and offers Rogue Legacy a spot on PS Vita, PS3 and PS4.
We love the fact that sony have been really giving young upstart a chance to shine on the Playstation platform. It's great when you're one of the big honchos like Ubisoft, or EA with a couple hundred-millions in the bank to play with, but even they had to start somewhere right? This is one of the reasons why we have been major supporters of Sony from the very beginning since the launch of the PS1, all those many, many years ago.
Rogue Legacy was out just two weeks before Cellar Door Games were contacted by Sony with an offer giving the company the all clear to develop a version for the PS Vita, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.
Rogue Legacy is a cool, old school classic castlevania style game, with a very interesting twist. When your main character dies in the game, players won't have to start the mission from the beginning. Instead their children are given the chance to take up arms, and avenge your death right from where you left off.
According to Lee, each child has their own unique powers that sets them apart genetically. So one of your children, could be a heroic Knight with the ability to knock enemies back really far, while another child could be a wizard like harry porter, casting magic spells and brewing potions.
Gamers can expect hours of fun on this title, as Cellar Door Games promises something different from each new character you control. Teddy Lee also mentioned that each time your main character dies, the money you have earned through your mission will be passed on to your children, which they would have to spend on upgrades, or it will be taken by Charon the Toll keeper, at the start of each new castle.
We are very happy for Teddy lee and Cellar Door games, on their fantastic news on Rogue Legacy. We will definitely be looking forward to checking out the PS4 version once it is available, and writing a full review about the game. Until then we will continue to keep you posted on more indie dev games making their way to the Playstation 4 this November 15th.
What version of Rogue Legacy are you most excited to play? The PS Vita, PS3 or PS4?
