Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Playstation 3 Owners Get Playstation 4 Version For Free

Square Enix’s recently released mega-hit game Final Fantasy XIV: A realm Reborn ( MMORPG) is making its way to the Playstation 4 early next year. Square Enix has just announced that Playstation 3 owners who already have the game, will get exclusive access to the Playstation 4 version absolutely free.
This is Square Enix's incentive for those undecided PS3 owners, still on the fence to upgrade to the PS4. Although it may appear Square Enix could stand to lose initial revenue's of up to $60 dollars from this kind gesture. They stand to gain an increase in monthly subscription revenue in the long run, even by gamers who do eventually upgrade, from the PS3 to PS4.
In addition to this news, Square Enix also revealed that the beta version for the Playstation 4 will start on February 22, 2014, which is the same day as the PS4's release date in Japan. We are unsure if the beta launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is going to be a worldwide affair, or just a Japan release.
