Sony Boss Hints At The Last Guardian Being Re-Engineered For PS4
By Maya Mayfield3rd October 2013
In an interview a couple of weeks ago, Sony Worldwide President told Famitsu that The Last Guardian by Team Ico is still in development. Today in an interview with GamesIndustry International, Mr Yoshida gave more information about the game that was initially set for launch on the PS3, but mysteriously disappeared.
When questioned about The Last Guardian, Mr Yoshida confirmed the game was still in development in the same building he was being interviewed.
When he was then asked what console would debut The last Guardian, he responded with 'Ahh . . . That, I cannot talk about."
The interviewer stressed to Mr Yoshida that it would make no sense for the game to release on PS3 this late into the consoles lifecycle, and said the developers have the PS4 Devkits in their offices from a conversation he over heard, in which Mr Yoshida replied, "so we are waiting for the right moment to re-introduce The last Guardian appropriately. The game is in development, and it is well staffed. Ueda-san is here, hard at work- although he is not a Sony employee, he is very dedicated to the product, but we are not ready to update more about it yet."
