In a recent conversation with Examiner, Ubisoft Lead director Ashraf Ismail revealed that the next instalment of the Assassin's Creed series had to be on the next-gen systems.
“When we begun working on AC4 Black Flags a few years ago, we knew it was going to be on next-gen, so we knew we had to create a fresh, unique world," said Ashraf Ismail.

In another interview this time with CVG, Ismail did mention how incredibly smooth it was to port Assassin's Creed 4 unto the next-generration consoles, compared to the previous cycles before.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is set for release on both current and next-generation consoles in November. Ubisoft promises over 50 unique locations to explore, as you take control of Edward Kenway, a pirate-turned assassin in the 1700s, when Piracy was just another way of life.

Gamers will smash and plunder their way through the West Indian Oceans, battling fellow pirates along the way in an attempt to conquer and rule the high seas.
