Housemarque Is Bringing New Dead Nation Inspired Alienation to PlayStation 4
August 21st, 2014 By Mont BrownLast week at Gamescom 2014, we saw the world unveiling of Alienation, the new game from Dead Nation developers Housemarque the team that also brought you the phenomenal space shooter, Resogun. The Announcement trailer was great, reminding us of a futuristic version of Dead Nation but re-imagined for current generation consoles in mind.
Being a team that likes experimenting with their own in-game engine. Mikael said they are constantly working on upgrading and tweaking several features to improve things like lighting systems, gameplay mechanics, particle effecters and much more as a starting point to any new IP they are working on.
Once the team are happy with the improvements they then decide what direction would best suit this new game. So in the case of Alienation they didn't exactly set out to make another Dead Nation type game with Aliens though on initial impressions it would seem to be that way.
Our Thoughts . . .
Regardless of the Dead Nation similarities, we think if it isn't broken then don't fix it. Alienation looks like its going to be a lot of fun with fast paced co-op action play functionalities and cool features like the "go rogue mode," which will pit players against each other while defending against the Alien Swarm.
