No one does action crime shooters like Hollywood, so it's no surprise then that developers Visceral Games are looking to Tinseltown for inspiration on their latest Battlefield Hardline coming to PlayStation 4.

Battlefield Hardline made a huge impact during its July announcement, with a ton of co-op, and multiplayer action to experience during its early Beta Access. Despite this, Visceral Games has kept their lips sealed on exactly what sort of single campaign mode, gamers can come to expect from Battlefield Hardline.

In a recent interview, Senior Producer Steve Anthony revealed the team are taking cues from popular TV crime drama series and building the campaign around that. Each new level will unfold like your favorite crime episode, filled with character development, suspenseful moments and of course cliff hanging endings.

In order to achieve this, Visceral Games have hired some key figures within Hollywood, like Benito Martinez from the popular TV series the Shield and Sons Of Anarchy, Bill Johnson from the West Wing and Wendy Calhoun from Justified. This combination of seasoned crime drama actors/actress and writers are part of the winning formula Visceral Games hopes to steer and influence the single player experience of Battlefield Hardline to being the best in the titles series so far.

Our Thoughts . . .

From the gameplay trailer, we can see how Visceral Games are really promoting the idea of Players being able to make crucial choices, with the option of using equipments that can help you analyze, asses and handle the situation at hand. These sort of decision making process are very important to todays gamers as it appears more developers are designing innovative ways to put you more in control. Previous iterations of Battlefield games have taken inspiration from Hollywood before when it comes to action, but unlike those games, Viscera are hoping to put you in direct control of the unfolding drama in Battlefield Hardline.
