At PlayStation Experience we got a chance to get our hands on the interactive teen horror flick Until Dawn. For those who don't know, the game features multiple choice options allowing you to quickly cycle through a list of choices in order to avoid imminent danger and probable death.

To help you familiarize with Until Dawn's terrifying gameplay, Fred Dutton from PlayStation has been interviewing Jez Harris from Supermassive Games to discover what techniques the team are using to scare the crap out of players.

Here is what Jaz had to say:

1.) Hire expert writers.

Until Dawn features a stellar script from Larry Fassenden and Graham Reznick both experts in the art of horror movies, winning critical acclaims for titles like the Innkeepers and Stakeland.

2. Don't forget the element of surprise

Fans of Horror movies will feel very familiar with the settings of Until Dawn says Jez. The game is designed to play like a horror movie, filled with uneasy twists and turns as you delve deeper into the story.

3. Getting a fresh perspective

Jez explains that having tested the game for several months its always hard to tell after a while if the game is still just as frightening. Getting a fresh perspective on their development is always a great way  to find out. That's why the feedback from PlayStation's experience was very crucial to the team.

4. Using the Science of fear

Going further from the last point. Supermassive are incorporating science into their formula by monitoring candidates temperature, skin moisture and heart rate as they play Until Dawn. The team then compare this dat to make sure the desired effect and impulses are being impacted.

5. Going against trends
