Gamers Want EA to Complete Star Wars 1313
By Maya Mayfield4th October 2013
When we first saw the trailer for LucasArts new Star Wars 1313, we were blown away by how amazing it was. Finally we could get the chance to play a Star Wars game that looks and feels the way a Star Wars game should. (Futuristic, Gritty, and Action Packed.) The game looked great, and from the trailer we was certain it was made for next-gen. So you can imagine our shock, horror, and utter disappointment discovering the game would never see the light of day because Disney had acquired the rights to LucasArts in 2013. Sadly this acquisition meant all employees were laid off, cancelling all current projects including Star Wars 1313, and Star Wars: First Assault.
Then on 6th of May 2013, we came to discover through EA's press release that they had signed a multi-year agreement with Disney for the rights to develop and release all Star Wars games.
We were back to super excited mode again, believing finally Star Wars 1313 will eventually be on its way. Unfortunately since then, there has been no further updates by EA about this project. Gamers had created several petitions on Change.org in the past to try and influence EA's decision to no luck. Today we can reveal that a new petition is starting to gather steam, announced earlier today by Examiner.com
At the time Examiner had published the story over 5,200 gamers had already signed the petition to bring back Star Wars 1313.
The number since then has gone up to 5,622, with only 1,877 more petitions needed.
So head on over to Change.org now and lets bring Star Wars 1313 to the Next-Gen.
